Overview

First met in Session 41, Tish was one of the first slaves the party met in Lost Haven. He lived in a tent within the mines of the siltwater slums, and compared to most others, he lived in relatively good conditions. He notably had a very close bond with Misty, the person he lives with.

Tish was later killed by Lorwyn, in a deal she made with Korrigan to put someone in his place when he was turned into a golden statue during The Party's fight with Malachi Darkthorne †.

Description

Appearance

Tish is described as quite a plain-looking person. Like most of the slaves in Lost Haven, he is constantly covered in dirt and grime and only wears rags.

Personality

When The Party first met Tish, he seemed very kind but extremely apathetic. This is most likely due to the guards slowly grinding down his willpower. He was also there for the First Lost Haven Slave Revolt, where he watched everyone get crushed and mutilated for engaging in the revolt.

As he gets to know the party, it seems like their evolutionary sentiment rubbed off on him. He is seen getting much more involved and even helping the party enact their revolt by offering advice and useful information.

Tish's kindness was evident from the start. As soon as the party awoke in the siltwater slums, he was there to help by offering them advice and answering their barrage of questions. He is also exceptionally kind towards Misty, often prioritising her safety and comfort over his own. The best example of his kindness and selflessness was when the Church of Ignatius gave the party some extra rations. They offered to split some with him, but he initially refused. After they wouldn't take no for an answer, he gave Misty a large portion of his.

Relationships

Misty

Tish and Misty have an almost father-daughter bond, as he clearly cares for her very deeply. It is currently unknown how they came to be so close; they're not related by blood, but it has been implied that she was born into the slums.

Kal

It is clear from the beginning, when he was unaware that Korrigan was Ka1 from the revolt, that he respected him for at least trying to stand up for what was right. However, he hated how difficult the first slave revolt made his life after Kal's alleged death. He thought the name was more trouble than it was worth.

History

Not much was known about Tish before the party met him during the Freedom's Flame Saga. However, it was revealed that he was still a slave six years ago, when the first revolution occurred. He was a member of a small faction that refused to get involved.

§ Interactions
Session 48 Halfbie continued to explain that they had all lost a great man. Viktor innocently stated that Tish, by all accounts, was a great man, which got him a glare from Halfbie. Halfbie mumbled something about wanting to learn guitar. Mordecai offers to teach them the instrument, but before Halfbie can respond, Viktor puts a caring hand on their shoulder and asks, "Would you like to talk about it? We could talk about your feelings. What is this doing to your senses? I admit I'm better at the physical part of doctoring, but I want to be better at this bit as well"
Session 46 With laughter echoing on the wind, Korrigan appeared next to a frozen statue of Tish stuck in a state of fear forevermore. Unable to stop for a moment to see the man who had helped them so much, he rushed for Sara's body. His suspicions were correct; this was a regular tower. In fact, he could practically hear the Terathra voice calling out to him. Remembering Chenris' notes from when he destroyed the tower of Ishnmel, he reached out to the power left in the tower's crystals and accepted it.
Session 46 Misty appeared running through the courtyards and collapsing to her knees, tears spluttering as she saw Tish's harrowing fate. She fell entirely to the floor as she cried over her father's death. "You were the best father I never had..." she thought.
Session 45 With the gates unguarded, Korrigan led the way to Luminara. Before crossing the threshold, he looked over his shoulder to check on Misty and Tish, who seemed fine, having stayed on the sidelines during the fight. Korrigan turned to Drache, "All right, Drache, what's the plan? We head straight to the palace? I think we have magic..."
Session 44 After helping make the Molotov cocktails, Misty drew a detailed map of the slums, and Tish pointed out choke points they could use. Korrigan turned to Aiden, pointing at the wall where the bow and armour were, and asked him to sneak down to grab them. Aiden nodded, sneaked off, and quickly returned, having not been spotted.
Session 44 Korrigan looks at Tish and asks if he has any opinions on this. Tish, looking tired but determined, simply states, "I think it's a bit late for being passive. I think at this point we have to fight."
Session 44 They carried on through the slums, noticing that the surprise had worn off and the guards were starting to fight back and kill slaves. They wondered if one should stay behind and help armoured people up. Tish reassuringly puts a hand on Korrigan's shoulder before nominating himself to help the slaves organise. "Aiden and i have got it from here"
Session 44 A few hunters stay behind, ready to help. Tish catches up, exclaiming that it's very bloody in the slums. Korrigan points to the doctor, saying that he will help where he can. Tish sarcastically replies, "I think it's gonna take a bit more than a doctor to reattach a head!" but thanks him none the less.
Session 44 "I think we need to take off the head of the snake." said Tish simply.
Session 44 "Yes, let's do that," said Korrigan, "Tish, do you know where we had some magical weapons taken from us. Do you know where they would be?"
Session 43 During their meal, Tish noticed that they were all coughing and was saddened that it seemed they had caught Lung Rot so quickly. He explained that it was an infection caused by scars from soot or coal dust in the lungs. They, especially Mordecai, were slowly dying, and if they didn’t get treatment from a doctor, it would get worse and be a painful death.
Session 43 Watching his friends safely go through the gate, Korrigan returned to the house with all the alcohol in it, grabbed as many bottles as he could, and returned to their tent. Inside, he began fashioning Molotov Cocktails. Misty and Tish helped make them. While making them, Tish explained that the wooden gate went to the huntsman's quarters. After the slave revolt, they were separated from the main slave population to help prevent another one. Once all the Molotov Cocktails had been made, Korrigan attached long fuses to them and placed them all over Siltwater Slums, mainly in abandoned buildings and near the wall. He wanted to create a distraction to help the other escape. Once they had all been set, he lit the fuse and returned to the tent.
Session 42 He then asked if they had managed to get their food in time. That was when they realised none had remembered to grab food, but luckily, they had the radishes from the priest. The man tried to refuse the Party sharing the food with them, but they didn't care and broke off a share for him. Halfbie insisted he take some food for being so kind to them and for asking for his name. He introduced himself as Tish and the little girl as Misty.
Session 42 They all introduced themselves, with Korrigan going last, saying his name was Kal. Upon hearing the name, Tish suggested that he change it while he was here. He explained that Kal was the name of a person who gave the slaves a lot of hope, hope that had since been crushed. Interested in his legacy, Korrigan asked for more information. Tish explained that Kal had nothing left. His family was gone, his friends were gone, everyone was gone. Tish reiterated, "You don't want to be a Kal, friend."
Session 42 "No, he would know that we don't turn our own in. it's hard not to hear without infighting." Tish explained, "It'd be a miracle if he was alive, though. Last I saw, he was stabbed and thrown into the ocean."
Session 42 After realising that Tish hadn't recognised him yet, Korrigan asked, " Is there anyone from the old days around? You know, from the rebellion."
Session 42 "A couple maybe, some of us old timers still around trying to keep everything going as well as we can." Replied Tish, "I mean Kal's rebellion was the last, people wanted to finish where he left off."
Session 42 "Pretty much. We have them to thank for it," said Tish, spitefully accenting each syllable.
Session 42 Korrigan then asked if Tish knew much about the antimagic field; however, Tish had no idea, explaining that he hadn't seen anything that could produce one.
Session 42 Tish agreed before saying, "I'd recommend getting a long sleep. Remember, you've got work at 6 a.m." He then got comfortable and went to bed himself. They all did the same, suddenly feeling the day's exhaustion hit them.
Session 42 After their shift, they were escorted out of the mines to get their rations for the day. Determined to get their food this time, they followed Tish and Misty to the mess hall. Inside, they were given small, dirty bowls of gruel. Outside, the antimagic field was powerful, and Halfbie traced it somewhere on the central city's other side of the wall.
Session 42 Sitting down with their "Food," Korrigan asked if anyone from the first rebellion was in the hall. Tish had a quick look before pointing out one man who Korrigan instantly recognised as one of the people from the rebellion fighting force. His joy was overcome with dread as he realised that during the rebellion, this man had had his leg cut off by a guard as punishment; it was now replaced with a crude metal one. The man's face was also quite badly scarred, and half of one of his arms was also missing.
Session 42 They soon reached their tent, where they found Tish, and the result was that the mess tent was waiting for them. Korrigan took a deep breath before sitting down to start explaining what happened.
Session 42 Another long silence before Tish spoke up, "So you're him?"
Session 42 Tish looks up. I will go with you wherever you lead us. But you hurt Misty... She gets hurt at all. And I will personally kill you."
Session 42 Korrigan smiled, "I would have it no other way, Tish. This time, I do this alone. If my friends are with me, I do not involve anyone else."
Session 42 Tish reminded them that it was getting late, and the revolution would fail quickly if they didn't get some sleep. They could discuss everything in more detail over the next few days. And with that, they all returned to their tents and slept.
