Overview
Seifer was previously a high-ranking Tactician and General in Ignatius' Army during the Sundering. She died during a particular fierce battle during the war. Many of her followers venerated her and even put her on a par with Ignatius himself. This constant belief manifested as her soul gaining greater powers. She was eventually sealed inside a crown kept on Itone, until Moredcai touched it and she came to possess them.
Description
Appearance
Seifer was briefly described in Session 32 as a medium-sized woman with dark hair and skin, wearing long beige robes.
Personality
Seifer was quite manipulative, making it difficult to track down his true personality.
To Mordecai, they often come across as a fair and wise leader who sometimes opts for violence quicker than they would. There are many instances where he gave incredibly sound advice that helped Mordecai and the rest of the Party survive. More recently, she even opened up about her life before the Sundering and how her family was massacred by the infamous Dustblood Family.
To the rest of the Party, she often appears as a cold, calculating, and violent person, obliterating her opponents to nothing more than a crisp, then holding Mordecai hostage to ensure no one finds out what happened.
History
She faced off against General Midus † many times on the way. She was said to be a brutal commander who would sacrifice anything to achieve her lord's goals. At one point, she was told to use massive fiery explosions that destroyed not only The Coalition's forces but also her Ash Spawn forces. She devised a plan to lure The Coalition forces into a trap. Her Ash Spawn huddled closely around her, forming a living shield of fiery death. As The Coalition army encircled them, Seifer unleashed the full power of Ignatius, sacrificing herself and her comrades to obliterate the enemy.
Seifer Willow ‡ was responsible for the torching of Emberfall.

| Session 51 | "If that means doing things that we're not proud of, then so be it, I guess" There was a brief pause before Mordecai spoke again, "I'm not going to lie. I haven't spoken to Seifer since the incident. I get the feeling she's giving me the cold shoulder." |
| Session 51 | Drache stood to the side and gave Mordecai some peace as they spoke with Seifer. |
| Session 51 | The silence in Mordecai’s mind was a fragile thing, broken by the soft, echoing voice of Seifer. She began not with a demand, but with a memory and a reason for why she wanted fried chicken. It was a scent, a taste that transported her to a long gone world, a time when her father was alive, when she was safe, and when happiness was not a memory but her reality. That world, she explained, her voice thick with a grief that had not faded, was ripped away from her. And the only other time that specific, profound happiness had returned, she revealed, was when Mordecai had found her, a furious and doomed spirit trapped in a Tiefling’s body. He had picked her up, and in doing so, had given her a semblance of family again, a cruel comfort given her eternal imprisonment within his own mind, forever severed from any afterlife reunion with her lost loved ones. |
| Session 51 | A flicker of hope crossed Mordecai’s thoughts. “Is there no way?” they ventured, suggesting the possibility of a spell, a plane shift to a realm where she might find them again and say hi. But Seifer’s sorrow curdled into a sharp and focused bitterness. She dismissed the idea; her peace, she insisted, was not to be found in some afterlife. It was tied to vengeance. The one who had destroyed her life, who had torn down her noble house and now profaned its legacy, needed to suffer the same depth of pain she had been forced to endure. She spoke of her past power, of a great house that once bent to her will, now occupied by those who used its comforts to inflict hurt upon others. |
| Session 51 | Mordecai’s soft, single-word rebuttal, “No”, hung in the air between them. Seifer was quick to clarify it was not a plea for them to act, but a statement of her own tortured conscience. The true source of her anguish in that moment, she confessed, was their conflict. She was fighting with him, the one person who had become her reluctant family. When Mordecai whispered an apology, she challenged it, forcing him to admit that his life was no longer just his own. They were bound together. Seizing on this, Mordecai steered the conversation toward a fragile truce. Trust, they stated, had to be the foundation of their forced union. He proposed a path forward: transparency, and the help of his own friends, his chosen family. If they worked together, he assured her, perhaps they could all find a sense of belonging again. |
| Session 51 | The offer of transparency seemed to unlock a deeper, more guarded part of Seifer’s heart. “I lied,” she admitted, the words a heavy confession. There was another person, a man named Kaelen. With halting words, drawn out by Mordecai’s gentle prompting, she revealed the truth. Kaelen had been the love of her life, her husband. And he was gone. The old guilt, a familiar poison, seeped into her spectral voice as she delivered the final, devastating blow: “He died because of me. Because I wasn't strong enough to help and save those around me.” |
| Session 51 | A strange, quiet calm settled over them. “Very good. We've been transparent,” Seifer said, her tone softened, the sharp edges of her anger momentarily smoothed away. When Mordecai, in a final gesture of peace, asked if there was anything she wanted, she declined. “I think it's time I thank you,” she said, and then she began to recede. For the first time in a long while, the constant pressure of another consciousness in his mind gently eased. Mordecai was left alone with the lingering echo of her presence, a sensation he likened to an unwanted guest in a room, choosing to sit in perfect silence, a tentative, fragile, and hard-won peace. |
| Session 51 | Returning to Drache, Mordecai explained that they felt sorry for Seifer, but that they now seemed to have a truce and could move forward. Mordecai didn't want to talk about the details of the conversation, instead changing the topic ot finding Halfbie, stating that leaving them alone for too long could be bad. |
| Session 50 | When we were fighting at the Blackwall, and you died?" Viktor nodded. In my head, I had Seifer telling me to let it in, and I can't help but wonder if I had, no one would have died. I could have helped, and I didn't. " There was a pause before they continued. "I feel like a coward, and I don't know if I've done the right thing." |
| Session 50 | "Mordecai, I have lived my entire life being sure of my principles. This is all I can ever do. And you have met me at a time when my own world has been turned upside down." He took a deep breath to calm his nerves. However, the one thing I do know for sure is that you are mortal, and you should be proud of that. You do not need divinity, you do not need other people's power - except the help of your friends. I have lost many, many friends over the years. So it brings me great joy to see a god who does seem to care about us mortals. However, like the gods, the heralds are unpredictable. Seifer is just the same." |
| Session 49 | With a click of his fingers, Haldir created a magnetic bubble that forced everyone to manifest as the bodies they truly were. Mordecai stood next to Seifer Willow, a ghost apparition of Korrigan appeared next to Drache, and Halfbie and Chenris stood side-by-side. With a perfected headmaster's gaze, he questioned Halfbie on their actions. |
| Session 49 | While this happened, Mordecai suddenly felt their hand move towards their dagger, and an outraged Seifer commanded Mordecai to kill Scorch. Mordecai tried to ask why, but Seifer was so enraged by this person's presence that they could do nothing but scream in anger. |
| Session 48 | Mordecai explained that the rebels had a Canon, which they used to attack the Black Tower, leading Mordecai to, in their own words, "make the excuative decision to consult with Seifer to see if she would be able to help. They made a deal with her that she would chase the rebels away in exchange for some fried chicken. Viktor pointed out that it was a real delicacy in the desert and a must-try food when in the region. Halfbie commented that it was no chicken noodle soup, but they were willing to try it. Halfbie then spent a few minutes avidly explaining the concept of Chicken noodle soup to a very confused Viktor, who seemed to have never tried it. |
| Session 48 | Instantly interested in a new spell, they looked through the notes and confirmed they could help with it. The spell was called Legen Lore, allowing the caster to learn anything substantial about a legendary subject. Together, they worked through the spells' requirements until a gathering of energies sounded them. The final part of the spell was to say what you wanted to learn about. Viktor looked to Mordecai and said Seifer Willow in a forboding voice. Suddenly, knowledge flooded into his brain. |
| Session 48 | Seifer was a powerful and talented general in the army of Ignatius during the Sundering. During one of the most climactic battles, she sacrificed herself and was promoted to Herald status. She was responsible for the torching of Emberfall. |
| Session 48 | In Mordecai's head, Seifer counters by saying the party technically travelled with a herald for ages, so why would she be any different? Viktor asked if he could speak with Mordecai directly. But she refused to engage with him and went as far as to insult him. Viktor didn't care about the insults but was disappointed he couldn't speak to her. With the main topic of discussion finished, the party chatted for a while, comparing notes and knowledge from recent events. |
| Session 48 | Mordecai explained that it seemed like Halfbie and chenris needed to have a big conversation about consent, like the one they and Seifer had had. "Taking over someone else's body, that is not originally yours. It can be highly stressful, obviously. Extremely stressful sometimes, and there needs to be boundaries put in place, so if there is a situation where you are trouble is isn't as bad." |
| Session 48 | Mordecai explained that every time Seifer takes over, they talk about it, so Mordecai knows precisely what is happening. They also explained that chenris is not a bad person, probably didn't intend to cause harm, and was trying to help. |
| Session 48 | They stood on the streets of Blackwall, panting for breath. The hut they were in was a blaze, and survivors poured water out. In their heads, Mordecai heard Seifer say that the explosion was weak. To which Mordecai apologised, saying that they should have trusted Seifer's warnings "Next time, Mordecai, we kill them all, then they can't hurt your friends" |
| Session 48 | When asked what Seifer was saying, Mordecai pretended not to know what they were talking about. Instead, they apologised for getting everyone hurt. Aiden insisted that they had nothing to apologise for as it was impossible to predict every outcome. Drahche agreed that they wouldn't have learnt as much as they did if they had gone in and killed everyone. |
| Session 48 | They all decide that they have to figure out if all the rebels are part of the Ashen cult or if they've just been dragged into something much bigger. Seeing that they are surrounded by the rebels, who are all in shock, they think it would be best to question them now. In Mordecai's head, Seifer told them that the rebels had to be burnt. |
| Session 48 | Mordecai explained that they didn't want to kill them and instead intimidated them like they did before. Seifer agrees, and the party watches in horror as Mordecai begins to float off the ground with their arms outstretched. Fiery red wings appear on their backs. Suddenly, all of the rebels explode in flames and disintegrate instantly, not even leaving a pile of ash behind. |
| Session 48 | Mordecai is gently put back on the groan, and the party all hear the same message in their heads from last time: command them never to reveal what they saw to Mordecai, or Seifer will kill them. "Is it for your own good?" |
| Session 48 | Mordecai was adamant that Seifer had left the cult and pointed out that she had helped them since joining Mordecai. Halfbie isn't convinced. |
| Session 43 | Mordecai looked at the contract but struggled to read it as it was written in goblin. Suddenly, Seifer, whose affects had been quietened by the antimagic field, spoke up. She told Mordecai not to sign the contract, telling them it was a soul contract for life, stating that they would have to do whatever the goblin mafia told them. Mordecai asked if the contract could state that they would only have to do the roles mentioned earlier. The boss laughed before explaining that that would be stupid, as what if they couldn’t go hunt one day, etc. “Plus, Goblins are best and should be able say whats you dos.” the boss added. |
| Session 36 | Halfbie wondered how much of Seifer Willow ‡ 's powers could be used through Mordecai 's body. Seifer explained that Mordecai 's body was too weak to use her full powers, but as Mordecai got more powerful, she could use more. |
| Session 33 | Mord and Korrigan were very uncomfortable with this but soon saw there was nothing they could do but order them to direct them to Steve Ulan. The cult guided them there, with many rushing ahead to clear the paths and roads to line by the door like a king's guards would. Along the way, Mordecai asked Seifer Willow ‡ what they thought about all of this, to which she said she thought of something very funny. before Mordecai could ask, they took control of the body and made them float in the air before letting a large wave of fire erupt from their hands. Horrified, Mordecai explained that Seifer Willow ‡ had taken over and caused that because she thought it would be funny. They quickly ran inside before more people started staring at them. they were guided up the stairs and into the councillor's office, where Steve Ulan and Keith Horrigan sat. Keith had his feet on the desk while Steve, who was wearing a white and gold clock and holding a shepherd crook, was standing reading a document at a table. When the Party walked, they immediately rose to attention. |
| Session 32 | Mordecai looked to the ghost of Seifer Willow ‡ on their shoulder, sarcastically remarking how it was nice to put a face to the name finally. She shrugged before noting how weird it was as they were so used to seeing Mordecai but remaining unseen. Looking over to Halfbie and Chenris, they noticed that Halfbie was beginning to have a mental breakdown. As they looked at Chenris, but before they could do anything, Korrigan fell to the floor, shaking violently. Mordecai rushed over to help him, but after a few moments, the shaking stopped. Halfbie looked at Korrigan from across the room and realised that without Lorwyn's influence, there was probably nothing stopping his memories from resurfacing, that his body was dependent on the Feywilds and that being cut off was having bad side effects. As Korrigan lay in Mordecai's arms in a daze before suddenly snapping back to consciousness. he exclaimed that he needed a sword. Confused by their question why, Korrigan replied with anger none of The Party had ever seen before, "I need to kill the king, the king of Lost Haven". |
| Session 31 | Haldir Heleyarus, sounding a bit annoyed, announced that he had been honest with them, and he wanted to know why they hadn't been honest with him. plus, now that he had revealed his true form, he thought The Party should do the same for him. He suddenly clicked his fingers, causing powerful magics to wash over them, stripping everyone of their changes: Korrigan lost his horns, Seifer Willow ‡ appeared as a ghost over Mordecai's shoulder, and Chenris Tallfellow ‡ doing the same over Halfbie. Halfbie began to panic. They had no idea who the person was on their shoulder. Mordecai tried to explain that this was Chenris Tallfellow ‡, but they had no idea what that was, and the name had never appeared in any of their memories. |
| Session 30 | After a deep breath, Korrigan says that in their party, Mordecai is possessed by a war criminal, Aidan is possessed by a God, another may share a body with a dead party member, and he is Lorwyn's toy. Weird or even bad things are bound to happen, but they're trying their best to make sure that the world is ok. Drache is still sad because, in his eyes, he isn't this paragon of good that everyone says he is. Like everyone, he has done bad things, sometimes for the greater good and sometimes for selfish reasons, making him feel like a fake and he is sick of pretending. |
| Session 29 | Contemplating the leaflet, the party continued their journey towards the All-father Temple. With such fiery motifs, Korrigan couldn’t help but draw comparisons with the group and the cult of Ignatius and asked Seifer Willow if she knew anything about this brotherhood through Mord. However, she was less than helpful - claiming that she had never heard of them before. Unconvinced, Korrigan kept pressing her for information, asking her very bluntly how she died. This provoked outrage from the dead woman in Mordecai’s head, demanding that Mord should kill him on the spot for such insensitivity and rudeness. Naturally, Mord refused, a little tired of the constant desperation of the woman’s violence towards his party members. |
| Session 29 | Halfbie excitedly rushed to the door as they arrived and politely knocked before entering. Tourists paused to look at him quizzically before resuming their way through the open double doors of the temple. Halfbie looked confused in return, as all they knew was that it was polite to knock before entering somewhere, especially somewhere important. Irritated by Halfbie’s naïvety, Mordecai pushed past him - announcing to the group that he wanted to take Halfbie to see Aeloria with a glint of contempt in their eye. Mordecai was growing desperate for answers, not just about Seifer Willow ‡, but also Halfbie. They were confident that she was responsible for all this, but why? Why would she go to these lengths? Why was he the only one freaking out? |
| Session 29 | Anxious for answers, Mordecai stormed into Aeloria’s worship room, practically pulling Halfbie by the scruff of their neck. Seeing the same orb as before, their voice came out more like a demand than the question they had intended. They requested to know more about what was happening with Halfbie and whether it was possible to dispose of Seifer. The orb considered for a moment before revealing that they were more than happy to share this information, but it would come at a cost. The orb was willing to trade the information Mordecai sought in exchange for their knowledge that Obeus was the Empress of Ehobel. The orb clarified that this would affect the entire party. Mordecai was uncertain if this was a deal they could make on behalf of the whole group and asked if they could wait for the others to return and consult them for their opinions. Mordecai also felt concerned that if they forgot about this, they might not take her back to Ehobel. |
| Session 29 | Soon, Drache and Korrigan landed on the floor just as Mordecai was put down and disconnected from the hive mind. Mordecai feels sick, but otherwise, the experience was just as the orb had explained it to them, they had no memories of what they had 'processed'. They got up and began to explain the situation to the others who were hesitant to take the deal, and when they put it to the vote, everyone but Mordecai voted no. Drache tried to console Mordecai, explaining that there would be plenty of other chances to learn more about Halfbie - ones that wouldn't cause them all to forget important information. Mordecai is disappointed but eventually understands where they are all coming from and mentally decides to do their best to at least get to know Halfbie a little before jumping to such rash decisions. The orb made a sound like it was clearing its throat and said they had a side of the bargain to fulfil and explained that, to their knowledge, there was no way to reverse the possession of Seifer Willow ‡. |
| Session 29 | Outside, Mordecai took a deep breath as they mentally prepared to enter Ignatius' room. Questioning out loud if this was really the correct thing to do. Drache suggested that I couldn't hurt to ask, worst case, they could all step in to help if it came to that. Slightly reassured, they all entered the room. Malin was sitting near the altar reading as they all entered. He greeted them warmly, asking if there was anything he could do to help. Mordecai dodged around the subject as they asked if Malin knew of someone called Seifer Willow ‡ during The Sundering. Malin explained that he knew of her when they both fought in the war and explained that she was a great general who gave her life to destroy an entire army Battalion. He explained that in some circles, she is regarded as almost a sudo Herald. |
| Session 29 | Mordecai comes clean and explains that they actually found Seifer Willow ‡, and she currently has processed his brain. Malin looks terrified and asks to know the full story and becomes increasingly terrified when they explain how they found The Crown of the Lost and then Firesoul Greatsword. Malin, now on the verge of panic, begged to know that the sword was safe and hidden away still. The Party deliver the troubling news that the sword was stolen by someone they suspect to be Ebis Daro. Malin broke out in a cold sweat and told them to follow him as he walked incredibly quickly for an old man. He took them out into the main library and into the back areas through a door labelled 'Authorised staff only'. Down a few corridors, they walked through a heavily guarded gate and down a steep flight of stairs. until they entered a large and dark room - illuminated only by a pristine white pillar. |
| Session 27 | Korrigan whispers to Drache and asks if they can quickly cast Detect Good and Evil and see what they learn. Drache does just then and, to his horror, detects a considerable amount of undead energy emanating from Mordecai. Drache hurriedly explains what he feels to Korrigan, who claims he'll cast his protection spell on Mordecai so they can ensure that Mordecai does not lose control over his body. The voice retorts that if they do that, they will make sure that when she leaves, she will make sure there will be nothing left of Mordecai's brain to function. Suddenly, it clicks with Halfbie. Ignatius doesn't have any family, but they did recall that in The Sundering - As told by The Ashen Cult, there was a female war general called Seifer Willow ‡. Willow confirms that Halfbie is correct and says that if they've read their bible, they know what can happen when too much of Ignatius' power is channelled through someone, and she can do that if anyone makes any wrong moves. |
| Session 17 | She asks where they got this book since it is quite heretical to own a piece of material that looks at Ignatius in such a good light and the two, slightly panicked explain that they found it in an Ancient Dwarven Stronghold under Steelwick surrounded by flames of an exploded researcher. She notes that that is how most followers of Ignatius tend to operate (referencing Seifer Willow ‡) leading Mordecai to talk about the man that exploded outside the airship and asking about The Red Cult. Unfortunately, she has no idea what either of them. |
