| Session 51 | The only other option they had at the moment was travelling to Fort Molden and finding a way to take back their previous wealth from the Dwarves. Halfbie said it would be essential to do that, but it might not be worth the trouble at the moment until they solved the rest of their issues. Halfbie suggested they split up; Halfbie could research both forts and prepare the golems while Mordecai and Drache spoke with Robert Thornwood to secure support for the raid. |
| Session 51 | Mordecai and Drache made their way up the black tower to where the old councillors' officers were. In one of the rooms, they found Robert Thornwood sitting at a desk in a well-lit room. There was a fire lit before it, which clearly also burned out. Near the fireplace, two Fruit cutters stood hand on hilt, glaring at the outsiders. |
| Session 51 | Mordecai, without removing their gaze from Robert, shot a fire bolt at the fireplace, reigniting the fire. Robert let out a shuddering laugh and sarcastically thanked his son for helping them, stating that it was starting to get cold. "Maybe that's suitable for your reading hairline." hissed Mordecai. |
| Session 51 | "Robert we've come..." Drache quickly cut off. |
| Session 51 | "You will address me as Mr Thornwood", said Robert, violence flaring in his eyes. |
| Session 51 | "... Mr Thornwood", Drache continued, "We wondered if you could help us with an expansion we had planned." |
| Session 51 | Mordecai bit their tongue and began explaining their plan to raid the gold through, and they hoped they could utilise Roberts' skills to take over the fort. Drache tried to help by explaining that there would be a lot of money available if the raid were successful; however, Robert did not care about the money. |
| Session 51 | "Fine, I'll be you're general, I don't need anythin' for you lot." replied Robert, practically spitting each plosive. |
| Session 51 | "No, Mordecai, you are not an angel; you're my blood, and you're a butcher like me. You are doing what is right. You are doing what is good, and you are spilling blood like I love." Robert said with a grim smile. |
| Session 51 | Robert beckoned Mordecai closer with a scared finger and leaned forward to whisper in the tiefling's ear. "Mordecai you are already lower than me." He then got up from his desk. "Now if you'll excuse me, I have a war to prepare for." As he left the room, his guards followed at heel. |
| Session 50 | They quickly returned to the Black Tower, where they got into bed and began to drift off. Along the way, they had decided that the Golden Fleet would be too difficult for them to take on. However, if they went to Fort Moldan to get their money back, they could stand a chance, as they could fund the army that Robert Thornwood was creating. |
| Session 49 | Mordecai had spoken to Drache and realised that Robert Thronwood|Mordecai's father]] would make a great candidate for leading the military and could help them get their art/ exports into the Uvam Dynasty. Mordecai explained that after a rather annoying conversation, Robert agreed to help them with the military and would even sell their art to the fruit cutters on the condition that they give him a new pair of legs. It was something Mordecai hoped Halfbie could help with, since they were good at building things. |
| Session 49 | Halfbie soon built the legs and a wand for Mordecai. He worked with Viktor to create a pair of prosthetics made of wood and with the prestigitation spell built into them. They were programmed to make a spark every time Robert took a step, but for the first 8 hours, he was the only one not to notice. |
| Session 49 | Leaning against the door, Robert asked what he should get started on first and instead pointedly suggested that it would be the art. Mordecai defensively said yes, but had no idea why that should be. Halfbie helpfully chimmed in, explaining that running a military without capital would be difficult. Robert immediately brightened to the idea and commended Halfbie for their smarts. While looking down their nose, they wondered why Mordecai couldn't be more like his friend. |
| Session 49 | "This is for difference between you. Someone who understands the world." growled Robert. |
| Session 42 | The King ordered purges of Siltwater Slums to purge out the weak. Later in my adolescence, I found purpose alongside a group of close friends: Thorn, Sera ‡, Kael †, and my mentor, Alandra. We were trying to find ways to make it better for us. We started crafting propaganda, a book. We tried every single peaceful option to end slavery here. We even had a petition with half of the names of the people in the slum, saying that if we were given freedom and a small wage, we would stay and do our jobs. |
| Session 35 | Fire licked at the Tiefling 's feet as they regained consciousness, bound tightly to a cross surrounded by all the people he had run from for years. His friends dangled upside down around them, bound and gagged, watching the events unfold - unable to help. Mordecai couldn't recognise laughs bitterly in the face of their Father, brother and previous employer. "You know this won't work." They chided as they gestured their bound hands towards the fire snaking around their ankles. Arwen simply did not care as he watched the leaders of the OFC dangle at his mercy. He informed the party through Mordecai that the goblin mafia would take over their precious OFC when they died by his hand. His eyes dragged themself over his previous employee, the object of his obsession and then vehement hatred, restrained in front of him. "One thing I have found after years of trying to find you, that little taste of catching you and you evading my grip once again, I no longer care about you." Those words hung like a man at the gallows as the slimy nightclub owner retreated, leaving the Thornewood family reunion to commence. |
| Session 22 | They are now confronted with a long corridor that holds several swinging blades, arcing at waist height. Korrigan is a feat of athleticism crawly under each of them incredibly quickly, emerging the other side unharmed. Chenris also manages to crawl through and discovers some leavers which slow the swing blades significantly. Mordecai is small enough in his dog form to walk under unharmed. Aiden, the more dexterous of the group manages to easily leap over the blades. However, he doesn't properly check if he has cleared the blade before standing up and gets sliced across his back, and due to the mummy rot curse, he is unable to heal the wound. Finally, Obeus is able to clear the first blade before being cut down by the second. In a stroke of ingenuity, Korrigan uses Thorn Whip to lasso her foot and pull her body over to them so they can heal her with a potion. |
| Session 18 | "That sure is a shame, but it does seem like your protection does little good doesn't it?" and leaves. He returns to reality and assesses the situation. He finds covered in blood with the bodies of around 20 Elves scattered headless around the Tiefling. Mordecai confront him, shouting and screaming that this blood is on both of their hands. all he needed to do is burn that stupid note. Korrigan perks up when he hears this and asks to see the note. Chenis laments and pulls out Leotoris' Last Problem, now covered in blood, burns and fraying at the edges and explains the significance of the note. Halfway through the explanation Korrigan interrupts and uses Thorn Whip to steal the note from chenris. Before anyone can do anything Korrigan has his bow and starts to aim at the note, intending to destroy it. |
| Session 13 | Chenris is quick to enter his trance state while the others stay awake, conflicted with the sudden change of events. They complain about chenris recent behaviour, alarmed that he has been getting worse and worse with his disrespect and insatiable drive for knowledge that has gotten them in difficult situations a few times. They decide to explore the house and eventually find a small library in one of the rooms. Mordecai and Korrigan are perusing the books before their eye widens in shock. There was a book on the shelf named “Mousebert & the Emperor's Folly” which was written by Kal, Sera and Thorn. Mordecai vaguely remembered the name Sera from the black ritual and Korrigan was familiar with his old name of Kal. They excitedly brought it back to the group as they showed everyone. Korrigan was especially excited as this was an actual link to his past that could help him with his mission in Lost Haven. After some time, their exhaustion got the better of them and they went to bed. |
